Forest Whitaker (born July 15, 1961) is an American actor, producer and director best known for his roles as Charlie "Bird" Parker in the 1988 biographical film Bird, Ghost Dog in the 1999 crime action film Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai, Idi Amin in the 2006 drama film The Last King of Scotland and as Lieutenant Jon Kavanaugh on the FX crime drama series The Shield from 2002 to 2008. He hosted Saturday Night Live on February 10, 2007.
