Regis Philbin (August 25, 1931 - July 24, 2020) was an American media personality, actor and singer best known for hosting talk and game shows, including the syndicated morning talk show Live! with Regis and Kelly (which rose to fame as Live! with Regis and Kathie Lee) from 1983 to 2011, the ABC quiz show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire from 1999 to 2002, and again in 2004 and 2009, the CBS game show Million Dollar Password from 2008 to 2009 and the first season of the NBC reality competition series America's Got Talent in 2006.

On Saturday Night Live, he has been impersonated by Dana Carvey four times from October 6, 1990 to December 14, 1991, all during the "Live With Regis & Kathie Lee" sketch, and again on February 5, 2011 during the "Live with Regis & Kelly" sketch, by Darrell Hammond twelve times from November 6, 1999 to May 17, 2008 and by Jimmy Fallon on December 17, 2011 during the "Today" sketch. Philbin himself also made cameos on October 17, 1981 during the "Control Room '81" cold opening sketch and on May 2, 1998 during the "Viagra (I)" filmed commercial sketch.
