Title Image Summary
Rapping Wrapper Cold Open The Gifted Wrapper (Damon Wayans) share some rhymes with Cabrini Green Jackson (Danitra Vance).
Opening Montage
Monologue by Teri Garr Dressing in a Papal Pantsuit, Teri Garr has become Pope Lois in the People's Catholic Church, as she returned to host for the third and final time. Maurice (Don Novello) discusses the Church's financial woes before joining her on a duet of "I Got You Babe".
Critic Repeat from November 9, 1985.
A Dozen Eggs Peasant girl Tandalaya (Teri Garr) has been bought and sold for the price of a dozen eggs since she was 16. With Jon Lovitz as foster father and Rany Quaid as Jeff.
Hildy The Deavers' maid Hildy (Terry Sweeney) handled the family's (Jon Lovitz, Joan Cusack and Robert Downey, Jr.) Christmas tasks herself, as well has her own "reward".
The Dream Academy Performs "Life in a Northern Town"
Weekend Update With Dennis Miller Miller continues to find his voice, and more of the jokes seem to be in the snarky, literate style he would become known for. This is also notably the first Weekend Update without a video footage item (not counting the teaser). The interview with Mob informant “Mr. X” (Don Novello) about that week’s murder of Paul Castellano has a few funny moments (some of the petty complaints, naming Ted Koppel when Miller presses for names), but goes on for far, far too long; even the poor job at obscuring his face becomes tiresome quickly.
A Roy Orbison Christmas The unaired six minutes of an NBC special features Roy Orbison (Randy Quaid), Connie Stevens (Teri Garr), Leslie Uggams (Danitra Vance) and more.
Guest Performance: Penn & Teller Teller breaks character as the Incredible Electric Boy after Penn criticizes his performance.
The Big Tree A disaster film about a giant tree with an unsuitable support structure.
The Cult Performs "She Sell Sanctuary" After the commercial break, Teri Garr reveals there wasn’t sufficient audience interest in continuing with the second part of “The Big Tree” and resolves the big cliffhanger before introducing The Cult.
Time Machine Trivia Game Bobby’s (Anthony Michael Hall) time-travel excursions with his science project affect the answers to the trivia game his parents are playing.
Goodnights Teri Garr thanked Penn & Teller, the Dream Academy and The Cult for “their wonderful music”, the cast of “fabulously funny people”, she wishes everyone "Merry Christmas" and asks “Why not be nice to each other, what could it hurt?” Jon Lovitz ad-libs “Why, it couldn’t hurt at all!”.
