The 925th episode and 16th episode of Saturday Night Live's 47th season premiered on April 2, 2022, hosted by stand-up comedian and actor Jerrod Carmichael, star of NBC's comedy series The Carmichael Show and his third HBO stand-up comedy special Rothaniel, with rapper, singer, and songwriter Gunna as the musical guest. This was Jerrod Carmichael's hosting debut. This is also the 2nd appearance and the first time as the musical guest on SNL for Gunna.

Though he only appeared in a pre-taped sketch, this episode marked Pete Davidson's return to SNL after being absent for the last three episodes, due to filming an upcoming movie titled The Home.
