The 511th episode and 6th episode of Saturday Night Live's 27th season, hosted by the actor, filmmaker, singer-songwriter, and musician Billy Bob Thornton, star of the hit films Obe False Move, Sling Blade, Monster's Ball, The Man Who Wasn't There, Intolerable Cruelty, Bad Santa and the 2016 sequel Bad Santa 2, and Friday Night Lights, with musical guest Creed, a rock band. It was premiered on November 17, 2001. Billy Bob Thornton made his only hosting stint, and this is also the only musical guest appearance for Creed on SNL.
