The 13th episode of Season 9 and the 172nd episode of Saturday Night Live premiered on February 18, 1984, hosted by actress Jamie Lee Curtis, star of the Halloween franchise, as well as the hit films The Fog, Prom Night, Terror Train, Roadgames, Perfect, True Lies, Disney's 2003 hit fantasy comedy film Freaky Friday and Knives Out, with musical guest The Fixx. Joel Hodgson is a special guest. Jamie Lee Curtis made her 2nd and last hosting stint, and this is the only musical guest appearance on SNL for the Fixx.
Curtis previously hosted the show on December 13, 1980, the fourth episode of SNL's infamous sixth season, with musical guest James Brown, which was coincidentally, the first episode for Eddie Murphy as a credited cast member.
