The 738th episode and 14th episode of Saturday Night Live's 38th season premiered on February 16, 2013, hosted by German and Austrian actor Christoph Waltz, star of the hit feature films Inglourious Basterds, Django Unchained, Carnage, The Zero Theorem, Big Eyes, Downsizing, Alita: Battle Angel, Spectre, No Time to Die, Alita: Battle Angel, Georgetown and The French Dispatch, and Amazon Prime's thriller series The Consultant, with musical guests Alabama Shakes, a rock band, who performed "Hold On" and "Always Alright". The German and Austrian actor Christoph Waltz made his only hosting stint on SNL, and this was Alabama Shakes' musical guest debut.
Christoph Waltz's goodnights speech is "Thanks to Alabama Shakes! Thanks to my friends from “SNL”! And thanks to YOU! You’re fabulous!" (Cheers and applause)
