The 858th episode and 8th episode of Saturday Night Live's 44th season, premiered on December 8, 2018, hosted by actor Jason Momoa, star of the DC Extended Universe films Aquaman, and the sequel Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, as well as the hit films, Dune, Braven, Slumberland and Sweet Girl, and the Discovery Channel historical drama series Frontier, and Apple TV+ science fiction series See, with musical guest Mumford & Sons, who performed "Guiding Light" and "Delta". This will be Jason Momoa's SNL (and hosting) debut, and the 3rd musical guest stint on SNL for Mumford & Sons.

The last time Mumford & Sons were the musical guests was on April 11, 2015, the eighteenth episode of SNL's 40th season, hosted by the actress Taraji P. Henson, star of the FOX's hit music drama series Empire.
