The 8th episode of Season 8 and the 147th episode of Saturday Night Live premiered on December 4, 1982. It was hosted by the folk singers, musicians, and comedians, The Smothers Brothers. Together they hosted their own classic television variety show, The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour on CBS. Singer-songwriter and actress Laura Branigan as the musical guest. The Smothers Brothers hosted for the first time, and this is also the only musical guest appearance for Laura Branigan on SNL.
