The 937th episode and 7th episode of Saturday Night Live's48th season premiered on December 3, 2022. It was hosted by actress Keke Palmer, star of the hit films Akeelah and the Bee, Madea's Family Reunion, Jump In, The Longshots, Hustlers, Alice, Nope, and One of Them Days and Disney and Pixar's hit animated film Lightyear and former Nickelodeon star of the hit teen sitcom, True Jackson VP and host of the revival of the game show Password, with R&B singer and songwriter SZA as the musical guest. This was Keke Palmer's hosting debut, as well as SZA's 3rd appearance and her 2nd musical guest appearance on SNL.
SZA previously made her musical guest debut on December 9, 2017, the eighth and the Holidays-themed episode of SNL's43rd season, hosted by actor James Franco.

Hernandez and Sherman's characters go along with it, while Palmer and Yang's characters question it. James Austin Johnson and Devon Walker appear as construction workers, Punkie Johnson appears as a firefighter, Heidi Gardner appears as the Statue of Liberty, Andrew Dismukes appears as Spider-Man, and Michael Longfellow appears as a Yankees fan. SZA performed "Shirt"
SZA embraced an ethereal vibe for her live performance of "Shirt," joined by two background dancers in front of a screen projecting blue astral images. Between SZA's vocals and the dreamy lighting, the song was hypnotizing. SZA looked slick in an oversized Harley Davidson shirt, with her vocals sounding otherworldly throughout the track.
Weekend Update with Colin Jost and Michael Che
Weekend Update anchors Colin Jost and Michael Che tackle the week's biggest news, like the Senate passing the Respect for Marriage Act and a humpback whale traveling 3,000 miles with a broken spine. With guests, Michael Longfellow stops by the Update desk to discuss celebrating the holidays as child of divorced parents and Trish Dale (Sarah Sherman), arrives to discuss gay characters joining the cast of Peppa Pig.

For this song, SZA wore a brown shirt and tie, looking stunning while delivering beautiful verses for the crowd. Ocean waves crashed behind SZA with the chorus, her angelic voice echoing.
Airplane Hawaii Flight
Two flight attendants (Ego Nwodim, Keke Palmer) wake their passengers (Heidi Gardner, Mikey Day, Chloe Fineman, and Michael Longfellow) up in the middle of the night to celebrate the fact that their plane has flown 10 million miles.
Goodbyes and Closing Credits. Kel Mitchell appears in the goodnights, despite not appearing in any live sketches.
