The 592nd episode and 7th episode of Season 31 of Saturday Night Live, hosted by stand-up comedian and actor Dane Cook and the musical guest was the English singer James Blunt, who performed "You're Beautiful" and "Goodbye My Lover". This was the first-time as the musical guest for James Blunt and the first hosting stint on SNL for Dane Cook. It premiered on December 3, 2005.

- Maya Rudolph does not appear in this episode due to being on maternity leave, she is still credited however.
- This is the 3rd time in the show's history that the entire cast has said Live From New York It's Saturday Night. The first time was on March 7, 1981 and the second time was on December 14, 1991.
- During the Turtleneck sketch the buffet table doesn't collapse the first time Dane Cook falls on it, so he intentionally throws himself onto it again.
- This is the 1st appearance of the SNL Digital Shorts.
- This is the 1st appearance of Target Lady.
