The ninth episode of Season 16 and the 295th episode overall of Saturday Night Live, hosted by actor Dennis Quaid, star of the hit films Soul Surfer, Jaws 3-D, The Big Easy, Great Balls of Fire!, Dragonheart, The Parent Trap, The Intruder, Blue Miracle, The Rookie and The Day After Tomorrow, with musical guest The Neville Brothers. It premiered on December 15, 1990. This will be Quaid's hosting debut and the second and final musical guest appearance on SNL for The Neville Brothers.
