Darrell Clayton Hammond (born October 8, 1955) is an American actor and comedian, who used to hold the record as SNL's longest-serving cast member, until he was surpassed by Kenan Thompson in 2017. Hammond had 14 seasons, this is currently Kenan is currently in 15th season. He returned to SNL as announcer for season 40, replacing longtime announcer Don Pardo, who died over the summer.
Darrell was hired as a cast member for SNL in fall 1995, since most of the previous cast was fired and/or left for a cast overhaul. Ever since, Darrell appeared on the show consistently, and did many memorable impressions of public figures as Bill Clinton, Al Gore, Donald Trump, and Sean Connery. (For a full list of his impressions, see below.) He left the show at the end of Season 34 in 2009, after a record setting 14 years. However, he did make several cameo guest appearances the following season.
