Catherine Anne O'Hara (born: March 4, 1954) is an Canadian actress, writer, and comedian. She worked with John Candy at SCTV. She hosted on April 13, 1991, and October 31, 1992.

She was hired to be a cast member on Season 6 when Dick Ebersol became producer. She lasted one week, resigning before appearing in a single episode, in order to continue as a cast member with SCTV.[1] She has said it had nothing to do about a supposed argument with Michael O'Donoghue. Luckily, Robin Duke was there to take her place. (Duke, herself an SCTV veteran, and O'Hara later co-starred in the popular sitcom Schitt's Creek).

Ironically, at one point when SNL was at a low ebb, ratings-wise, one show being considered as a replacement for it was SCTV, due to it being a hit in a 90-minute format (SCTV Network 90) that aired on NBC on Fridays for a time.
