Bob Odenkirk (born October 26, 1962) is an American actor and comedian who was a writer at SNL from 1987 to 1991.
Odenkirk wrote the original Matt Foley sketch for Chris Farley, saying “it was the most fun I ever had” at SNL.
After leaving SNL, Odenkirk would go on to star on the HBO sketch comedy series Mr. Show with Bob and David (1995-1998) alongside fellow comedian and friend David Cross (who himself once unsuccessfully auditioned for SNL). Odenkirk would receive massive attention and critical success during the 2000s and 2010s for his role as Jimmy McGill/Saul Goodman on the AMC drama series Breaking Bad (2009-2013) and its spin-off Better Call Saul (2015-2022).
