The 15th episode of Season 31 and the 600th episode overall of Saturday Night Live premiered on April 8, 2006. It was hosted by Spanish actor Antonio Banderas, star of the hit films Desperado, Evita, The Mask of Zorro and the first three Spy Kids series and the animated films, DreamWorks Animation's Shrek franchise, Puss in Boots and the sequel Puss in Boots: The Last Wish and the musical guest was Mary J. Blige who performed "Be Without You" and "Enough Cryin". Antionio Banderas' only hosting stint was made and this is also Mary J. Blige's 2nd musical guest appearance on SNL.

Mary J. Blige previously made her musical guest debut was on the March 13, 1993 episode, the fifteenth episode of SNL's 18th season, hosted by actor John Goodman.
