The 925th episode and 16th episode of Saturday Night Live's 47th season premiered on April 2, 2022, hosted by stand-up comedian and actor Jerrod Carmichael, star of NBC's classic hit sitcom The Carmichael Show and his third HBO stand-up comedy special Rothaniel, with rapper, singer, and songwriter Gunna as the musical guest. This was Jerrod Carmichael's hosting debut. This is also the 2nd appearance and the first time as the musical guest on SNL for Gunna.

Though he only appeared in a pre-taped sketch, this episode marked Pete Davidson's return to SNL after being absent for the last three episodes, due to filming an upcoming movie titled The Home.

Scattering Remains   A family (Heidi Gardner, Kyle Mooney, James Austin Johnson) attempts to put their pop-pop to rest, but things don’t go as expected when Kevin Gordon (Jerrod Carmichael) and Rudy Berman (Andrew Dismukes) throw the family's grandfather down off the cliff.
Brian's Crazy Story   A man (Kyle Mooney) gets really excited about a story someone (Jerrod Carmichael) is telling. With Heidi Gardner and Ego Nwodim.

Baby Clothes   A commercial advertises a new, more inclusive line of baby clothing.
Goodbyes and Closing Credits   Jerrod Carmichael had the best week of his life, and he thanked the incredible crew and amazing cast, crew, the incredible writers, Lorne, Future and Gunna, and remined everyone to watch his stand-up comedy special Rothaniel on HBO.
