The 805th episode and 18th episode of Saturday Night Live's 41st season premiered on April 16, 2016, hosted by former Ebersol-era cast member Julia Louis-Dreyfus, star of the NBC's hit classic sitcom Seinfeld and the HBO political satire comedy series Veep, with musical guest Nick Jonas, who performed "Close" and "Champagne Problems". The episode garnered backlash on social media due to two sketches, "Heroin AM" and "God is Straight" and appeared in the "Chad: Pool Boy" pre-recorded sketch. This is Julia Louis-Dreyfus' 3rd time as host and her first appearance in 8 years, 11 months and 30 days.
This is also the 2nd musical guest stint for Nick Jonas and he also made his solo musical guest debut on SNL.
The last time Louis-Dreyfus hosted the show was on March 17, 2007, the fifteenth episode of SNL's 32nd season, with musical guests Snow Patrol, a Scottish rock band.
