Alan Zweibel is an American producer, writer, and actor. He was a featured player during season 5.

An original Saturday Night Live writer (1975-1980), Zweibel is a five-time Emmy Award-winning comedy writer who created classic material for Gilda Radner, John Belushi, and all the Not Ready for Primetime Players. From SNL, he went on to become a major force in such landmark TV series as It's Garry Shandling’s Show (which he co-created and produced) and Curb Your Enthusiasm. Most recently, he co-wrote and produced the feature film Here Today with Billy Crystal (who also directs and stars with Tiffany Haddish). Theatrical productions include collaborating with Crystal on the Tony Award-winning 700 Sundays, Martin Short’s Broadway hit  Fame Becomes Me, and six off-Broadway plays, including Bunny Bunny — Gilda Radner: A Sort of Love Story, which he adapted from his bestselling book. Zweibel is the author of 11 books, including his cultural memoir, Laugh Lines: My Life Helping Funny People Be Funnier, and the Thurber Prize-winning novel, The Other Shulman.
