William West Anderson (born September 19, 1928 – June 9, 2017), better known by his stage name Adam West, was an American actor best known for his lead role in the Batman TV series on the ABC TV network and the 1966 Batman feature film. He was then known for portraying eccentric or psychotically delusional characters, as well as his voice work on animated series such as The Fairly OddParents and Family Guy, in both of which he voices a fictional version of himself. On Family Guy, the fictionalized Adam West was the mayor of Quahog, who was succeeded by his cousin Wild West (Sam Elliott) when the real Adam West died of leukemia, aged 88.
Although he had never been on Saturday Night Live, he has been impersonated by Michael McKean on May 13, 1995 during the Weekend Update.
